“Sustainability is not just a buzzword for us, it is a core value that drives every decision we make. In fact, the reason we started Gelato was because we firmly believed in the power of local on-demand production as it enables our users to produce what they need, when they need it, and where they need it. Local on-demand production slashes delivery times, waste, carbon emissions and costs. It’s faster, smarter, and greener. And it supports local businesses too. Today our mission is to empower global ecommerce and the creator economy to serve any customer overnight, with any customized product. Our mission is bold and long-term, but we have already passed many important milestones.”

Sustainability at Gelato

Gelato's approach to sustainability is to have a positive impact and take environmental, social, and economical responsibility, including governance and anti-corruption. In 2020 we defined our sustainability strategy based on stakeholder dialogues and analysis to define what matters the most for our stakeholders and Gelato, and where we can have the greatest impact. With the foundation of our sustainability strategy we have recently updated our sustainability ambition for 2030, and set 2025 objectives.

Gelato's sustainability strategy and prioritized materiality aspects are divided into three overall strategic areas: Environment: reduce environmental impact; Social: have a positive impact on people; and Governance: act responsibly and support eight Sustainable Development Goals.
